Day 20 - Merry Friendmas!

Day 20! It’s always day 20 that it hits me how quickly Christmas is coming up. The weird thing is…I’m weirdly ready for it? I have a few things to do still but not much. After I pick up some extra things I ordered today…well I just need to wrap the rest of my gifts and then I’m done! We’ve decided on some distanced family plans. and while that won’t be the same it will still be special and more importantly it will be safe!

So I started the morning with tea, blogging and checking out som analytics. Apparently one person from Sweden has checked out my blog! That’s pretty cool! And then I got Christmas-ified and whipped out more festive earrings. Even though know sees I’ve been wearing lipstick to work. It just makes me feel good and put together and helps me feel festive at a time that feels less festive than it usually is.

After work Navi and I had a little photo shoot. Our vets is having a Christmas photo contest and we entered. I think she not only captures the magic of the season but also how darn cute she is with her eye twinkling in the lights! I hope we win! That would be such a treat for Navi who likes endless amounts of toys and treats!

My parents have gotten really into K-Drama so they’ve started trying to capture recipes from the shows their watching. They’ve recently gotten really into Ramen and noodle recipes so that what on the list last night. It was pretty good! I’ve never had real, authentic Korean ramen so I’m intersted to see how it compares. We also had Soju which is apparently what they always see the characters drinking in these shows and….I’m not a fan. I couldn’t do it, it was too strong for me!

And of course, the grand finale of the evening was the mini Christmas party I had with my friends! If you’ve been on this blog for a while you probably know we’ve been keeping outselves busy by watching every princess Christmas movies we can find! It’s been really amazing having those nights and has helped me feel better on hard days and I really appreciate them being willing to watch these crazy movies with me! So tongiht we had our Friendmas! We somehow managed to figure out how to get out gifts to each other in a very complicated socially distance visit a while ago, and then we all got dressed up, got some drinks and snacks and opened out gifts together on Zoom! Both my gifts were so lovely and thoughtful. One was a digital portrait of Caius and it matched my tattoo which is so cool, and the other was ingredients to one of Mia’s recipes, and of course her artwork! I was going to buy one of these prints but instead she gifted me this one so I can keep Nova Scotia with me always! It was so lovely and I had such a nice time! I miss them and I can’t wait to party with them again. for real. We ended the night watching as many Christmas episodes of The Office we could find and it’s been a while since I watched that show too so that kept me laughing also.

Definitely a festive night and feeling so thankful for the lovely friends I’ve made through my life. It’s not the same, but I definitely reccomend setting up some sort of Zoom holiday event like this with your friends. It was fun and it is good practice at enjoying your own company too. Not needing someone sitting there with you to enjoy a glass of champagne or a plate of cookies or whatever.

Anyway you get it.

Until tomorrow!
