Day 16: Teacher Gifts and Holiday Party

Today was a little rough to start...admittedly I get hungover so easily and that made the first half of my day a little wonky. But despite feeling a little off, I have been hit by hangovers so bad that today was like a little baby hangover. Nothing a nap and some Tylenol couldn't start to turn around.  Also in spite of it, we had a fun day in our classes today doing some fun musical activities and having a little holiday party. The kids are very excited about the fact that Santa is coming soon and some of them even showed up with cards and gifts for me! It was so sweet. One of my students drew a picture and was waiting all week to bring it to show me on Saturday - it melts my heart. I really do love working with children. They have so much joy to share.

After my nap and feeling more recovered I got a handle on some chores and then had a lovely home-made turkey dinner, courtesy of my father. We all shared the chocolates I was given today as a Christmas gift! And I could not finish this blog without talking about how grateful I am for my boyfriend's patience with me, I was supposed to tag along to a little Christmas party this evening...I'd been sitting on the fence about it but I wanted to try to go and I said I really would try to warm up to the idea. Parties are often very intimidating and scary for me, but I know that I can do it if I really try. However time ran away from me and before I knew it I had a million things I wanted to get done and I wouldn't be able to do them if I went to the party. He was so understanding and so patient with me. He took the pressure right off and I am so thankful that he is able to do that for me. I can't explain how helpful it is for someone to take that pressure off of me, and to be understanding about why I needed it. Having tonight to check off my "to do" list is going to help me enjoy the rest of our week and gear up for Christmas without the stress of it all!

I am feeling really happy and productive and ready to cross everything off of this list tonight! And get myself a good night's sleep too!

Wish me luck and I hope that you take time to set yourself up for a good week by getting all those boring bits out of the way now, so you can take time for yourself later on to enjoy alone or with your family!

Sending you warm wishes for your day ahead! <3
