Day 15: Christmas Presents and Karaoke!

I worked another day at both jobs so there wasn't a whole lot of picture taking! Lots of running around getting from one place to the next on time! But my day started the right way with a hot chocolate! I should probably mention that my hot chocolates aren't just any ordinary hot chocolates and I am willing to brag a little say that they're actually very good! I make them with my milk frother from Breville and it mixes the the powder into the hot chocolate right while heating it up. And when I'm really treating myself... it's hard to say no to Whipped Cream and Dark Belgian Chocolate Curls. Seriously, such an amazing start to my day.

My students are doing such an amazing job and it's really nice to see that when I need to implement some structure into your lessons in a way that is still fun, the kids really seem to like it. With my younger students we use a Task Board to help us stay on track during lessons, and every time we finish an activity they get a bead (if they did a good job listening and participating of course). They put their bead on a ring and when the ring is full they get to pick a surprise from the surprise bag. The students are so proud of their beads and of themselves. It's wonderful to hear them telling their parents about what good listening they did!

The evening ended with a little"mini-Christmas" my friend and I had. We did a little gift exchange complete with rum and eggnog, a crackling fire, and Christmas music. It was nice to have a cozy start to the evening before venturing into the cold to make our way over to the karaoke. The Karaoke was lots of fun, and it was nice to get out like I used to. I definitely don't party the same anymore. It was a truly lovely evening with some lovely people and I climbed right in bed as soon as I made it home!

Hope you are warm and cozy too!
