Honesty

You keep it up.
Keep bombarding me with reminders
That you couldn’t
(or wouldn’t?)
Be the man I needed you to be.
 
So go ahead.
Try to prove to the world that you are fine. But-
I will scream from the rooftops
That I am not.
Because I will have no shame
In being honest with myself
Or with you.
It’s all I’ve ever done.
I never once lied to you.
I always told you a feeling
As soon as I felt it.
Now isn’t any different.
You weren’t paying attention then,
And you’re not paying attention now.
