Listening and Talking

​I wish people would do more listening
      To just listen.
And do less listening
      To talk.
Sometimes people hurting
Don’t need to hear your solutions.
Because unless you can take the pain away
It won’t change.
Reminding them of what caused the pain
Will send them further into the darkness
      Of their own mind.
