My Favourite Calming Youtube Videos

When I'm having a day of high anxiety, coming down from a panic attack, or feeling mellow and blue, I often feel the need to get out of my own head. To do this, I try to find a distraction that will get my mind of the things that seem to be bogging me down and Youtube has been a huge help with that. While, yeah, it's important to get outside, get some sunshine or fresh air, you don't have to have only one solution. I've compiled a list of my favourite Youtube videos in case you find yourself in need of some distractions, or maybe just some noise in the background while you check things of your To Do list.

WHAT I'M LOVING RIGHT NOW:

Zoella and her videos have been a huge inspiration to getting this whole blog started. After a break up, I turned to Youtube and binge-watched a lot of her videos. Her positive attitude and cheeriness was really uplifting and motivating but I enjoyed that she kept it real and captured moments in life that weren't all sunshine and rainbows.

Personally, I enjoy her older videos more for some reason - perhaps there's a sense of nostalgia since those are the ones I watched initially. Her Vlogmas from 2013 was so fun to watch and great way to feel festive at Christmas time. If you can't afford your own make-up haul, sometimes it's nice to see someone else's...!

When I watched Dan and Phil's Sims 4 gaming series I was losing it with laughter through almost every episode. I love how kooky and easy-going it is. And while their game-play isn't as "funny", Zalfie's Sims4 series (Pointless Blog Gamescan be really relaxing and I like having it on in the morning, or during a nice bubble bath at night.

Good Mythical Morning is another channel I recently started watching that often has me laughing out loud. When you're feeling blue, it's a nice surprise to suddenly be chuckling to yourself alone on your couch. Can really turn your mood around.

ChristopherOdd's gaming channel is one of my favourites. He plays all kinds of games and I like his gameplay because it's calm and often quite relaxing. I've become really accustomed to watching let's plays during meals or having them on in the background while I do other things. He plays a great variety so there's definitely something on that channel for everyone.

I recently posted about discovering the wonders of ASMR and I have been exploring some new videos since I first wrote about it. Write now I've been loving Lilly Whispers' Spa Roleplay. I love the sounds of the brushes, and packaging of the products - I'll pop this on with headphones right before bed or before a nap. I can see this being one I listen to if I feel panicked.
