Day Sixteen: A Freak Accident After a Productive Day

Well day sixteen was interesting indeed! I worked most of the day but I was just happy to be alive. I started surviving off rice crackers because I was still feeling a little off but by the end of the day was feeling much more myself again. I even noticed that my cup from Second Cup had a really nice little message on it - "My Cup of Joy!" How fitting! But I try not to take paper cups when I don't have to...I'm usually pretty good with that - with a nice message like that I didn't mind so much!

When I got home I had a little outing with my roommate to tackle some things on our to-do list - thank goodness for Homesense being open until 11pm during the holidays. I finally understand holiday hours! They make life a little easier for other retail workers who work weird hours! I managed to check off everything on my to do list! I was trying to go as reusable/waste free as possible while also not blowing my budget with wrapping materials. On our way home we found a little joy in the lights glowing the little square in Yorkville! What a nice little surprise and a magical way to end our evening!

After that we went home and got down to business! I took over with my gift wrapping and got almost all of it done! It feels good to finally get ahead of the game although I still have a couple things to fix up before I can finish wrapping entirely. I'm close though and that feels pretty good!

I was on such a good productivity kick I started tidying my room when I spotted some fall decorations still up on my bookshelf! I had to take them down but low-and behold...disaster struck! I knocked a photo-frame off the shelf and it knocked my phone off the desk and the corner of it peirced and shattered my phone screen. I tried to stay positive - in the past, or maybe on another day that really would have shaken me up and turned me right around. I tried to stay positive though - I knew it wasn't the end of the world. These freak incidents are the reason I pay for device protection. I can go early in the morning to fix it and I can do pretty much any of the communicating I need with some wifi. I managed to put it out of my mind until the morning and rest easy being thankful for what had gone right. It's not always easy but it's worth it.

Okay tomorrow will be some adventures so stay tuned as I try to take care of my phone!
