Day Twenty-Three - Cleaning Day and Wrapping Gifts

It’s funny - I have been so excited to not have to be working on Christmas Eve and somehow I’ve still managed to busy right up until the last minute! I knew I was about to have a busy day of house cleaning and getting organized for Christmas so I started the day off right with some cinnamon buns. It was the perfect start to a busy day! I began a rampage of vacuuming, mopping, dusting and disinfecting so that my house was ready for all the holiday shenanigans! I put all the gifts I hauled in from my parents’ house under the tree and then it was off to the afternoon show! Once I got home I finished any leftover bits and pieces and had something to eat. Before I knew it, it was time to leave again and off I went to the evening show. I picked up a couple last minute things and on my walk I saw a car all decked out in lights! I’m not sure how they were powered but it looked cool and made me smile!

When I got home I began the work of wrapping presents - it was a modest gift pile this year but I think I got everyone things they will like! Gift wrapping has become a rather peaceful activity for me - I like to take my time and enjoy it. With some new additions under the tree it was finally time for me to settle down and relax a bit. Navi and I watched some Youtube while I painted my nails, and then we finished with some gaming and popcorn before turning in for the night.

It was a whirlwind of a day but I got everything done and I know that it will be worth it when I wake up tomorrow with a nice clean place and the morning to just relax and enjoy the moment! Navi is never far behind when it’s time to head to bed and the night ended just the way it started with a little biscuit making and chin scritches!

One more day left - have you been able to find moments of joy? What do you like to do to stay present? I’d love to hear so leave a comment if you’d like to share!

See you tomorrow - Merry Christmas Eve Eve!
